Adaptive Sports Program

Adaptive Sports Program

In 2018, The Adaptive Sports Program was formed for mobility impaired Veterans (a power wheelchair soccer competition). A local ALL VETERAN team has been formed with experienced players, coach and team management. This team is the first all Veteran soccer team to join the U.S. Power Soccer Association nationwide. In the spirit of cooperation to serve Veterans in the surrounding communities, not for profit organizations have come together enabling the Veteran Mobility Projects to actively support and fund this project to facilitate ease in their ability to competitively compete. Expenses and equipment are provided at no cost to the team players.
Cloverlane Foundation was instrumental in developing the partnership to bring the Veterans Mobility Projects Adaptive Sport Program to be realized. Gerald Chase of Cloverlane Foundation, Michael Wofford of Empire Mobility and Russell Mills of American Legion Post 53 Hemet teamed up to design this project and it has become very successful in assisting mobility impaired (wheelchair) Veterans within the local communities the ability to compete. If you are interested in more information on the Veterans Mobility Projects Adaptive Sports Program as a sponsor, player or wish to make a donation please contact Russell Mills, American Legion Post 53 at (951) 658-2436 or Michael Wofford, Empire Mobility of Hemet at (951) 330-1698.
